I first came across M. Kenan’s Khazar books was when I lent ‘The Betrayel’ from a friend over a decade ago. I’ve been a devoted reader ever since.These books are not merely novels set in a unique time period and location. The author skillfuly merges modern day concepts (like internal security offices) with ancient times. By describing a historical kingdom who’s existence was not clearly proven, therefore leaving a lot of space for imagination and creativity.The author has a deep understanding of human behavior and conveys meaningful and insightful ideas through the characters deeds and words.Entertaining, meaningful, a novel that I believe will make you a better person and teach you a thing or two about human nature.Thank you M. Kenan and the English translator. And please please keep those Khazar books coming (700 pages at least!) I and many other that I know are waiting.
